Training on SHG-bank linkage

Training camp for SHGs concludes

 

The five-day residential training programme for the members of the self-help groups (SHG) has concluded in Cooch Behar on Friday. Thirty participants from fifteen social organisations – both male and female - attended the SHG-bank linkage training programme. The National Agricultural Bank for Rural Development (NABARD) sponsored the programme that was organised by the Consortium for Training, Research and Development (CTRD).

 

NABARD's district development manager Mr Debasis Ganguli and CTRD's training director Mr Vijay Krishna conducted the five-day training programme at the Panchayati Raj Training Centre (PRTC) in Cooch Behar.

 

Among the thirty participants there were two from Godhulibazar North East Society for Empowerment of the People.

 

Mr Vijay Krishna said they organised the training programme to teach how to form SHGs, nurturing of SHGs, various aspects of SHG related activities and bank credit linkage.

 

On the fourth day of the programme the vice-president of G-NESEP Mr Debashis Bhaumik and the secretary Mr Partha Pratim Sarkar visited the proceeding of the training. On being requested Mr Partha Pratim Sarkar addressed the trainees over the important role of the SHGs in developing the socio-economic situation.
